Poor Man’s Filet Mignon

1 pound lean ground round
2 slices bread crumbled
1 egg beaten
¼ cup milk
1 tsp. salt
½ tablespoon minced onion
¼ tsp. chili powder
1 bottle smoke flavored barbeque sauce
6 slices bacon uncooked

Combine first seven ingredients.
Form into 6 thick patties.
Wrap a bacon slice around the sides of each patty and secure with toothpick.
Bake on a rack at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes or until desired doneness.
Baste frequently with remaining barbeque sauce the last 30 minutes.
