1 cup butter room temperature
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
2¾ cups all-purpose flour
½ tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
1 cup milk
Preheat oven to 325. Grease and flour a 12-cup bundt pan or 9×13 baking dish. Tap out any excess flour.
In a large mixing bowl, add butter and sugar. Beat on medium with a hand mixer until creamed.
Add the vanilla and the eggs one at a time. Beat each egg before adding the next. Scrape sides of the bowl. In a separate bowl, add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk to combine.
Measure out the milk. Alternately add the flour and milk always starting and ending with flour.
Pour batter into prepared pan. Spread evenly using spatula. Bake 1 hour or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let cool in pan 5 minutes. Turn onto a cake plate leaving it in the pan for another 5 minutes.
Tap pan with a knife to help loosen the cake from the pan.
Using a 9×13 pan, bake 50 minutes.
