Crunchy Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

2 cups packed brown sugar                                     
½ pound (2 sticks) butter                                                 
2 eggs                                                         
1 tsp. vanilla                                      
3½ cups uncooked quick rolled oats
1½ cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips

In a large bowl, cream sugar and butter. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat until fluffy.

In a separate bowl, combine oats, flour, and baking soda. Mix well. Combine with creamed mixture.

Stir in chocolate chips. Batter will be thick. Drop by rounded teaspoons full onto greased cookie sheets.

Bake in preheated 375 degree oven 12 to 14 minutes. Place on rack to cool.
