Almond Rice Pilaf

½ cup butter or margarine
1 cup long grain rice
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
¾ cup chopped green onions
2 2/3 cups chicken broth or stock
¾ cup slivered or sliced almonds
Lightly grease a 2 quart baking dish. Melt butter in medium size skillet over medium heat.
Stir in rice, mushrooms, Italian seasoning, and green onions. Cook, stirring constantly, until onions and mushrooms are tender, about 5 minutes.
Spoon mixture into prepared baking dish. Stir in broth and almonds. Bake, covered, at 325 for 1 hour.
