1 (28 oz) can whole tomatoes with juice
2 cans Rotel tomatoes with green chilies
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 jalapeno, quartered and sliced thin (optional)
1/2 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground cumin
1/2 cup fresh cilantro (more or less, to taste)
Juice from 1/2 of a fresh lime or 1 Tbsp bottled lime juice

Put all ingredients in a blender and blend.

Pour into a jar and refrigerate until ready to use.
