Pumpkin Magic Cake

For the cake layer:
1 yellow cake mix, plus ingredients according to package (eggs, water, oil)

For the pumpkin pie layer:
1 15oz. can pumpkin
½ cup evaporated milk
½ cup heavy cream
3 eggs
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice

For the frosting:
1 4oz. vanilla instant pudding
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 8oz. carton of Cool Whip
1 cup cold milk

Preheat oven to 350. Prepare cake according to the directions on the box.
Pour into a greased 9 X 13 pan. Set aside (do not bake).
Whisk together pie ingredients. Slowly pour over cake batter.
Carefully place in oven and bake for 50 – 60 minutes. Cool.
To make the frosting, mix pudding, pumpkin pie spice, and cold milk, whisking to combine.
Fold in Cool Whip. Spread over cooled cake. This cake is best served chilled.
