12/15/2014 Date Balls
Recipe Courtesy of George Mohr2 eggs, beaten 1 cup sugar ¼ cup soft butter 1 cup dates, chopped fine ½ cup walnuts, chopped 1 tsp. vanilla 2 cups Rice Krispies 1 ½ cups grated coconut or 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
Combine eggs, sugar, butter, dates, nuts and vanilla in bowl and blend well.
Turn into a heavy skillet and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and add Rice Krispies. Mix well.
Cool and shape into small balls by rolling in buttered hands.
Roll each ball in coconut or powdered sugar.
Let set for 24 hours on wax paper for best flavor.
