Valley’s Holiday Trouble Reporting Procedures

Valley would like to remind you that if you are experiencing trouble after hours, or at any time for that matter, you must call our regular business office number at 437-2615 to report your trouble.

Valley is committed to providing you with the best service possible. In order to do this, we have established detailed procedures to accommodate your service problems and/or questions.

In order to meet your urgent needs after hours, our plant staff rotate on an on-call schedule, each taking their turn throughout the month. By calling our business office, our office staff or our after hours answering service, will contact the on-call technician to address your service issues. Please keep in mind that the on-call technician may not be located in your exchange area. Therefore, we request that you do not contact our service technicians at their homes, as they may be unreachable, out of the area for an extended period of time, or even on vacation! As a result, your service issue may not be resolved in a timely manner.

By contacting our business office or after hours answering service directly, your service issue will be addressed in the most efficient manner. In addition, a call to our business office will generate an electronic trouble ticket that can be used by our staff to track recurring problems and pursue different avenues of resolution.

We appreciate your cooperation in utilizing our trouble reporting procedures.

July 4th Safety Tips

4th of July and should be a day of fun and celebration, but it is also one of the most dangerous days of the year. You can keep your Independence Day fun and safe when you follow the proper safety tips. Whatever your plans are for this holiday, be sure you remember these safety tips.

1. Remember the importance of fireworks safety – Fireworks may be a fire hazard and can cause bodily injury.  Always read all instructions properly and do not use near wooded or dry areas.

2. Always have water available to put out any sparks or flames that may occur when using fireworks.

3. Never point fireworks at people.

4. Do not allow children to play with fireworks or firecrackers.

5. Dont drink and drive. Always have a designated driver and dont let your friends drive drunk.

6. Be extra cautious on the road. Even if you are not drinking, other people might be. Drivers also become distracted by fireworks and other excitement in the area. Be extra cautious if you must be on the road this weekend, especially at night.

7. Be careful during barbecues that you do not start a fire. Be sure all coals are completely out before leaving the barbecue unattended. Be cautious of children playing around the barbecue area.

8. Store food properly to avoid food poisoning. Be careful of leaving food out- especially in the heat.

9. Remember to drink responsibly and to serve foods at the proper temperature.

10. Also, if you have pets, remember pet safety too. Dont let your beloved pet become a casualty this 4th of July.

Statistics show that over 7,000 people each year get treated for 4th of July related accidents. Dont be one of them. Stay safe this year.

Have a happy 4th of July!

Open Season on Breast Cancer

Valley’s office staff is pleased to announce the 2010 Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign: Open Season on Breast Cancer.

With such a great response last year, we are gearing up for an even bigger and better campaign in 2010!

Be sure to check your July 2010 Billing Statement for an order form. Short sleeve t-shirts (60% cotton/40% poly) will be available in adult sizes small through 4XL. (Size note: We have noticed that the shirt sizes run slightly smaller than last years style, so please order accordingly.) Shirt orders along with full payment must be received by August 13, 2010. Due to the special design of this years shirt, no orders can be accepted after the deadline date.

All proceeds from the sale of the 2010 Open Season on Breast Cancer shirts will be donated to the American Cancer Society for outreach programs in South Dakota.

Thank you very much for supporting this worthwhile project!
