Customer Advocate (CSR)

Valley FiberCom is currently accepting applications for a Customer Advocate (CSR) to join our team at our Volga, SD Location | Start Date: June 2026

At Valley FiberCom, we believe our customers are not just accounts—they are relationships. As a Customer Advocate, you are the voice of the customer and a partner to coworkers. You will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer experience by connecting customer needs with the right solutions while supporting internal teams to ensure success.

What You’ll Do & Your Impact

  • Advocate for Customers
    • Build customer relationships by actively listening, showing empathy, and ensuring every customer feels heard and valued
    • Guide customers through services, billing, and technical questions with confidence and care
    • Educate customers on products, services, and best practices (including security and account protection)
  • Advocate for Your Team
    • Collaborate with Billing, NetOps, Outside Plant techs and Marketing to ensure customer needs are clearly communicated and resolved
    • Provide detailed, accurate service order notes to support internal teams and reduce confusion
    • Take ownership of customer issues from start to finish, including follow-up and resolution confirmation
    • Effectively communicate feedback, innovative ideas, and critical issues to appropriate stakeholders within the company
  • Deliver Solutions & Support
    • Assist with service requests including new connections, changes, disconnects, and troubleshooting
    • Create and manage trouble tickets, ensuring clear documentation and customer follow-up
    • Use available tools (Calix Cloud, billing systems) to proactively solve customer problems
  • Drive Growth & Retention
    • Promote and recommend services that best fit customer needs
    • Identify opportunities to improve customer experience and strengthen long-term relationships
    • Support company initiatives, promotions, and customer education efforts
  • Maintain Accuracy & Accountability
    • Process payments, maintain accurate customer records, and complete required documentation
    • Follow CPNI, PCI and security guidelines to protect customer information and build trust
  • Contribute to team and company success by supporting additional responsibilities and projects as needed, and performing other duties as assigned by management

 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

We’re looking for someone who brings both skill and heart to the role:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with a wide range of customers
  • Natural problem-solver who takes ownership and follows through
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail with accurate data entry and documentation
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support coworkers and share knowledge
  • Ability to navigate technology and learn new systems (telecom experience is a plus, not required)
  • Positive attitude with a focus on solutions

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of customer service, office, or business-related experience preferred.
